Advice, Information & Support

The following organisations offer help, support, advocacy and information services to those affected by mental ill health, their families and carers. We have also included links to organisations that deal with abuse and bullying, as both can cause significant mental distress.

Please feel free to suggest other charities and groups in the comments section (especially, though not exclusively, organisations outside the UK as these are not represented at present).

Please note that neither the editors nor other contributors to The World of Mentalists can offer mental health advice or information, and the links below are intended as a guide only to useful services. If you/someone you know are/is in an acute mental health crisis, it is imperative that you contact a doctor, a duty/crisis team or the emergency services immediately. You can also contact a local crisis hotline, such as The Samaritans, for (usually instant) support and a sympathetic ear. Please find an international list of such hotlines right here.

The World of Mentalists is not responsible for the content of external websites. Please see the disclaimer for more information.

If you’re looking for our list of mentalist bloggers rather than information or assistance, please see here instead 🙂

  1. Thanks, Pandora, for the time that you spent putting these together 🙂

  2. Hi Pandora, could we be added to your list please? I know this is shameless self promotion but we’d like to get the message out that we have supported housing vacancies at present and would love new tenants. Thanks ever so much for any help you could offer. Amanda x
